Year 5 have researched a range of Egyptian artefacts and have been recreating some.
Some mystery objects arrived in year 6 today to kick-start our geography work on farming. Although these objects are from the past, they will help us to understand how farming has changed and how farmers use the land.
We were very excited to get going with our history topic all about the Maya and their civilisation.
Year 5 amazed Emily, our guide at Astley Hall, with their knowledge about its history. They also learned lots of new interesting facts too.
Year 6 spent the morning on Wednesday investigating and learning about so incredible documents held at Preston Archives. As part of their history unit, the children learnt how books are made and considered what value books had in the past and have now.
Year 3 became Anglo Saxon experts this afternoon. They researched one artefact and then presented their information to the class.
Year One are having a fantastic time at the Greater Manchester Fire Museum. We are learning all about The Great Fire of London.
Ruth from Warburtons visited Year 2 this morning. We have been learning about the history of Warburtons and making our own sandwiches. Year 2 asked lots of super questions.
A huge thank you to Mrs Sanderson who brought her Roman soldier equipment into class. She told us lots of interesting information and we tried on her Roman soldier outfit.
Year 3 drew excellent Roman soldiers in History this afternoon. We then labelled the different items they carried, some children even wrote in Latin.
