We started to read Holes by Louis Sachar today in year 6, but not before we had been on the field to dig some of our own!  

He’s back! The Highwayman comes to year 6.

Year 6 started to look at the famous poem, ‘The Highwayman’ by Alfred Noyes. They thought of some excellent questions inspired by reading the first two pages.  

We are getting excited about books 

Year 6 were getting excited about books this morning. We set goals for our reading over the year. 

Thinking about reading 

Year 6 worked hard this morning when reading their chosen class library books. They were reflecting on the central character and what they learn about them. 


Year 6 are really enjoying our new class novel. We spent time this morning thinking about what we can learn about our the central character. 

We are engrossed! 

Lots of fantastic reading going on in year 6!  Books are brilliant!

Reading workshop in Year 4

We have been reading our class novel, The Borrowers, and using drama to freeze frame parts of the story. 

Young Quills begins! 

Year 6 threw themselves in to reading a set of titles given to us by the historical association. These novels are all historical fiction and we have to review them.
